Product Applications

Nootkatone occurs naturally in citrus, grapefruit and other fruits. It has a grapefruit, citrus and orange odor, accompanied by sweet peel and woody notes.

When added to new insecticides and repellents for the protection of humans and pets, it can prevent bites at a rate similar to products containing other active ingredients and provide protection for several hours.

It can also be formulated into soaps, sprays and lotions, and is widely used in fabrics and personal care products.

Nootkatone produced by Jinhe is a colorless or pale yellow oily liquid. It can be used to compound edible flavors and tobacco flavors such as grapefruit, orange and tropical fruit flavors.
